Information

  • This module serves to translate customer individual I-texts in database schema Q2B.

Note

  • The translation of PLANTA Standard I-texts is not possible with this module. The module filters by @3 on the Owner license field.

Before Translation

Information

  • I-texts must be adjusted before every translation.
    • Upon adjustment, empty records are created in the target language for the new I-texts of the source language.

Note

  • An adjustment is not necessary if you do not enter any new translations, but only want to check or change existing translations.

Adjust I-Text

Procedure

  • Select the language to be adjusted from the Target language listbox.
  • Click on the Adjust button.
  • A dialog message with the query whether the adjustment of the I-texts is to be carried out in the respective database schema for the selected language is displayed.
  • Confirm this message with Yes .
  • If the adjustment has been carried out, a dialog message is displayed, indicating that the adjustment of the I-texts is to be carried out in the respective database schema for the selected language.
  • Confirm this message with OK .

Translations

Procedure

  • After you have carried out the two steps described above, you can start translating. To do so,
    • Select the target language from the Target language listbox (if the adjustment has run through, this field is already filled with the correct language).
    • Enter the term (to be translated) in the Source text from field.
      • If a term is embedded in **  (e.g. *Project*), it is searched for all records that contain this term.
      • If a term is not embedded in , it is only searched for this very term.
    • Click on the Filtering button.
    • Enter the probability in the Target text field.
    • Save.

Details

  • After having clicked on the Filtering field, the Source text to field will automatically be filled with the term from the Source text from field.
    • When you perform a new search, the Source text to field must be emptied, otherwise the term to be searched for will not be found.
  • The search can be restricted with the help of the DT or DI data fields.
    • If the fields are filled, the system will only search for the corresponding I-texts.
  • For the I-text of DT447 and DT454 Listbox values, the corresponding listbox category, in which all values are displayed, can be opened via right mouse button and Open listbox category context menu command.

Search for Non-Translated I-Texts

Procedure

Search for I-Texts Changed in the Source Language

Procedure

  • Select the target language from the Target language listbox.
  • Enter the period in which the changes have presumably been made in the Date from and Date to fields.
  • Click on the Filter button.
  • Check or correct the translation.
  • Save.

Translate Non-Breaking Spaces

Procedure

  • Select the target language from the Target language listbox.
  • Place the cursor in the Source text from field.
    • Hold down the ALT button and enter 0160 in the Source text from field.
    • Release the ALT button and enter * in the field.
  • Click on the Filter button.
  • Copy the non-breaking spaces from the Source text field to the target text field(s).
  • Save.

I-Text Maintenance

Delete Empty Records

Information

  • Click on the Delete empty records causes a deletion process in the course of which all records for which there is no I-text in the source language are deleted.
  • All other foreign language I-texts are deleted, even if the I-text field is filled.

Procedure

  • Click on the Delete empty records button.
  • A dialog message with the query whether all I-texts that have no name in the source language are deleted for all languages is displayed.
  • Confirm the message with OK.
  • A message is displayed, indicating that all I-text records that have no name in the source language are deleted for all languages.
  • Confirm the message with OK.

Note

  • Clicking on the Delete empty records button affects the entire schema.
