Access

  • PLANTA link role → Jira InterfacesUser Synchronization

Information

  • In this module you can
    • create (synchronize) users from PLANTA project in Jira if they are not yet available in Jira or
    • link PLANTA project users to those in Jira.

Notes

  • The users are synchronized/linked via their e-mail addresses.
  • User synchronization is one of the steps required for the installation of the Jira Interface. Before synchronization itself can be run, the server settings set out in the installation guide must be made.
    • Go to the web.conf and configure the following server parameters for the PLANTA project system which is to communicate with the Jira system:
          • generic_service - must be activated (true)
          • generic_service_interface - must be configured if necessary
          • generic_service_port - must be configured
          • ssl_generic_enable - must be activated (true) if you want to run Jira on HTTPS.
          • apikey_auth_filter_generic - must be deactivated (false) because Jira does not authenticate itself to the web interfaces.
        • After you have configured the parameter you have to restart the server.

Procedure

  • Activate the Synchronize with Jira checkbox (in front of the user ID) for the users which are to be synchronized.
    • Tip: If the checkbox is to be activated for all users, mark all records with CTRL+A, press CTRL+2, activate a checkbox and copy them to all records by pressing CTRL+dragging with the mouse.
  • Save and either click on the Create users in Jira button, or, if the same users already exist in both systems, click on Link users.
    • The global Jira user group parameter serves to define which Jira users are searched or linked, and to which group the users synchronized from PLANTA are assigned. The jira-software-users group is stored. This group is also used if nothing is specified in the global parameter.

Details

  • For the users the synchronization of which has run succesfully, the corresponding Jira ID is entered in the field of the same name. If user synchronization fails, the Pending Configurations module is displayed at the bottom margin. Here you can open the log file by opening the context menu on the respective configuration and check the cause of failure.
  • If a user is synchronized, the checkbox cannot be activated again. The linkage must first be deleted in the Synchronized Objects module.

Notes

  • If the maximum number of licensed users is reached, they will indeed be logged, however, they will not be added to jira-software-users and can thus not log on.
  • If you import the user data from your Active Directory, you cannot activate or deactivate the Synchronize with PLANTA pulse checkbox manually
  • Now, only users who have a verified person are synchronized with Jira.
  • Users the e-mail address of whom is not unique are ignored by the user interface.
  • Users left are not linked to Jira.
