Dashboard (Project) MOD0099JT
Access
Information
- This module acts as a kind of message center for changes made to the project. The latest project information is displayed here.
- It is a plain output module, i.e., data cannot be changed.
- The module is empty when a project is created. It is filled with data during project planning and editing.
Note
- If the module described here is opened and at the same time you make changes to another module of the project panel which have an influence on the data in the module described here and save them (or if another user has done so), the Refresh button is displayed at the lower left corner of this module. You have to click on this button in order to refresh the display of the data.
Process Status
Information
- When a process model has been selected in the Process Status module, the process bar, which includes all defined phases of the selected module, is displayed at the top of the module.
- Completed phases are displayed in gray font.
- The phase the process steps of which are currently in process is highlighted in color (bold white font).
- Future phases are displayed in black font.
- By clicking on a completed or current phase, you can switch to the Process Status module. The cursor automatically jumps to the phase that is clicked on. As a result, the phase is highlighted.
Status
Information
- In the status bar, the project manager’s estimate as well as the project status calculated by the program from the current planning (upper line) and from the active (last released) status report (lower line) are displayed.
- The estimate of the project manager is visualized by a thumb symbol.
- The project status calculated by the program is visualized by a triangle shaped traffic light.
- red: costs/effort overrun by more than 5% or delay of more than 5 days
- yellow: costs/effort overrun by more than 5% or delay of more than 5 days
- green: costs/effort not overrun or no delay
- Below the status bar, all master milestones of the project are displayed in a graphic.
- The y axis contains three planning states:
- Current status
- Status from the active (last released) status report
- Status from the baseline status report
- The x axis displays the entire project duration
- Start = earliest calculated start date of the three planning states on the y axis
- End = latest calculated end date of the three planning states on the y axis
- Diamonds represent tasks that are defined as master milestones.
- In the middle of each diamond, the WBS code is displayed.
- If no WBS code has been generated yet, the technical ID of the task will be displayed.
- Diamonds of completed tasks are or will be colored in dark gray.
- For the task name, refer to the legend below the graphic.
- If you left-click on a hash, this hash and the other remaining hashes of the same task from other reports will be enlarged for comparison purposes.
- In the middle of each diamond, the WBS code is displayed.
- The 'today' line is visualized by a black bar in the graphic.
- Half of the graphic up to the 'today' line is colored in light gray.
- The y axis contains three planning states:
Details
- The graphic will only be displayed if the following requirements are met:
- The selected planning object is active (status=1) or archived (status = 9).
- For archived planning objects, only the data from the baseline and the active status report are displayed.
- Master milestones are available in the schedule.
- The master milestones are scheduled (a scheduling was carried out after planning of the master milestones).
- Each master milestone has a name.
- The selected planning object is active (status=1) or archived (status = 9).
- If one of these requirements is not met, a note is displayed which informs you that the chart data is not available and gives you the reason for this.
Deviation
Information
- This area provides deviation information on budget, cost, and effort data of the project.
- In the header, absolute numbers, as well as different deviation data, are displayed graphically (in %). These values are values from the current planning.
- The Cost Trend Analysis or Effort Trend Analysis links lead to the modules of the same name.
- In the Cost deviation and Effort deviation subareas, tasks are displayed with the cost and effort deviations from the current planning compared to those from the active (last released) status report.
- Each record has a traffic light which either switches to red (high deviation) or to yellow (low deviation), so you can see at first sight in which tasks the deviation is too high.
- Via the Edit task context menu command, you can switch to the Task module in which the task data can be viewed and edited.
Activities
Information
- The Activities area provides a compact overview of all open activities in the project.
- Activities include tasks, todo items, process steps, risk and opportunity measures and change applications.
- For each activity type, the number of activities is specified by date status (today, delayed, future, without date).
- On the number, a link is stored via which you can switch to the respective editing module in which the affected activity records are highlighted (marked).
- If necessary, data can be changed in these modules.
Technical details of the parameters on which the date status calculation is based.
- Task:
- is without date if Calc. start and Calc. end are both zero
- is Delayed if Calc. end lies in the past
- is today if Calc. start is today or lies in the past and Calc. end is today or lies in the future.
- is in the future if Calc.start and Calc. end lie in the future
- Todo item: date
- Process step: date
- Opportunity measure: date
- Risk measures: date
- Change request: Requested on
- Since the Requested on date can never lie in the past, there can be no entries in the In the future column.
Info
Information
- In the Info area,
- Pin board entries, notes, and documents which have been collected in the Documents module and that affect the current project, are displayed.
- For notes and documents you have to consider that only those will be displayed in the Dashboard module for which the Type parameter (Type for documents and Type for notes) has been set to 1 (display in the Dashboard) in the Documents module.
- After activating the Completed checkbox, pin board entries, notes, and documents are hidden. Completed entries can be viewed in the All elements and Completed elements variants of the Documents module.
- Pin board entries, notes, and documents which have been collected in the Documents module and that affect the current project, are displayed.
Note
- The Info area will only be displayed if at least one of the subareas contains at least one entry.
Watchlist
Information
- In the This project is on the watchlist of area, persons are listed who assigned the current project for monitoring reasons to their own watchlist via the My Watchlist module.
- The area will only be displayed if it contains data.
