Availability MOD009AE5
Access
- PM Administration → Master Data → Users, Roles, Resources → Resources (click on the link on the required resource here)→ Resource Data Sheet → Show availability button → Availability
Information
- In the Availability module, different planning factors of the resources, like e.g. availability, utilization, absence, are displayed per day (period) and can be viewed or edited depending on the respective factor.
- All period records from the planning horizon of the resource are displayed, i.e. those which lie between the start and end period.
Note
- Since the values displayed here stem from the resource planning and the resources can possibly be planned in different projects, PLANTA expressly recommends that you carry out a replanning of all projects in this module before reviewing the planning values to ensure that the values are up-to-date.
Edit values of the planning factors per day (period)
- When creating period records, the values of the Unit/period (availability), Available capacity, Basic load (Factor value 3), Factor value 4, and Factor value 5 are copied uniformly from the resource master data (Resource Data Sheet module) for all periods. They can be changed per period record directly in the respective fields (except the available capacity).
- The Available capacity cannot be changed directly but must be calculated. For this purpose, you have to enter or change values in the influence factor fields (Vacation, Absence, Period factor 3, Period factor 4, Period factor 5), and in the Factor amount/period parameter.
- The value of the Work checkbox is copied from the stored resource calendar upon creation. In the Availability module, the checkbox cannot be activated or deactivated directly. In order to define a day as a non-working day in the Availability module, you have to empty the Unit/period and Factor amount/period parameters and save these changes. If this is done, the Available capacity (without child resources) and Available capacity fields will be emptied automatically if they contain values.
- The values for absence and vacation are copied from the Absence module but can also be changed or newly created in the Availability module by making a selection in the Absence type listbox.
- The utilization values like Utilization (without child resources) or % utilization (without child resources) are copied from the resource planning and cannot be changed here.
Details
- If the hours to be worked function is activated (the global Hours to be worked and presence parameter = 3), the Presence column will be displayed, in which the hours to be worked for the selected resource can be defined per period. This planned value is compared to the hours reported by the resource. For more information on the hours to be worked function, see here.
- When using the Clock-in/Clock-outfunction (global Hours to be worked and presence parameter = 4), the presence of the employee will be saved in the Presence column as soon as he/she has recorded the presence in the course of time recording.
How can I filter by weekdays in the Availability module?
Open the Filter Criteria module via the Extras → Filter Criteria menu items. Expand area 4 Period and enter the required weekday value from 1 to 7 for the Day parameter in the Filter from field, whereas 1 = Monday and 7 = Sunday. Click on the Filter button.
