Dependencies between Projects
Information
- There are three ways to map dependencies between projects in PLANTA project:
- Direct dependencies between projects
- This function allows you to define one or more dependent projects for each project.
- In the Dependencies module, you can create and look at dependencies between projects.
- The dependencies created here are of purely informative nature and do not have an impact on the dates of the respective projects.
- Cross-project links
- Cross-project or external links connect the tasks of different projects.
- Their effect is similar to that of links within a project, i.e. the cross-project links have an influence on the dates of all connected projects.
- When calculating a project which is connected via external links, the projects it is connected to are included in the calculation. This results in the creation of a total network of all projects involved.

- External tasks
- This function allows you to have tasks of another project/program displayed in the schedule of a project/program. You can, e.g., have milestones displayed which are decisive for your own project, which provides a clear overview within the project
- The display of the tasks of a project in another project is of purely informative nature and has no impact on the dates of the projects involved.
