Access

Information

  • This module contains different graphical analyses in the following areas:
    • Portfolio Structure and Project Estimate
    • Costs and Budget
    • Risks and Opportunities
    • Evaluation Criteria
  • The analyses are not directly contained in the Objective Contributions and Risk Values area. They are opened via the eponymous links and are presented in detail in separate modules.

Portfolio Structure and Project Estimate

Information

  • The Portfolio structure pie chart shows the shares of different planning objects (e.g. projects, ideas) in portfolios.
  • The Project estimate pie chart shows the shares of the project manager’s positive, negative, and neutral estimates of the portfolio planning objects.

Note

  • The dates displayed in the charts stem from the current planning of the portfolio.

Costs and Budget

Information

  • The Costs and budget area contains the Budget/costs and Costs/benefit diagrams.
    • The Budget/costs diagram shows actual costs, rem. costs, liability, and requested and approved cost budget per year.
    • The Costs/benefit diagram shows total costs in comparison to benefit per year.

Note

  • The dates displayed in the charts stem from the current planning of the planning objects assigned to the portfolio.

Risks and Opportunities

Information

  • The Risks/opportunities Gantt chart shows the damage and gross profit values in comparison to the approved cost budget.
  • The Risks/opportunities pie chart shows the probable damage and the probable gross profit.
  • The Risks diagram shows the number of risks on the basis of the risk weighting (low, medium, high).
  • The Opportunities diagram shows the number of risks on the basis of the risk weighting (low, medium, high).

Note

  • The dates displayed in the charts stem from the last released portfolio status report.

Evaluation Criteria

Information

  • The Evaluation criteria diagram shows a radar chart the edges of which represent the defined evaluation criteria. The colored area shows the degree of fulfillment of individual evaluation criteria in contrast.

Objective Contributions and Risk Values

Information

  • In this area, different analysis can be displayed in accordance with selected filter criteria.
    • Filters must have been created before.

Procedure Show utilization

Note

  • If the portfolio does not contain any planning objects, the analysis modules do not receive any data accordingly. This is indicated by a message which is displayed after you have clicked on the respective button.

Create and Edit Filter

Create new filter

  • Click on the Insert filter button (plus symbol) to create a new filter.
  • Enter a unique name for the filter in the Filter name field.
  • In the Project type field you can define which planning objects are displayed in the analysis.
  • The Bubble parameter determines the size of the bubbles in the chart (except for the Planning Objects by Objective Contribution and Risk Value chart in which the bubbles strictly map the NPV value).
  • Using the Year from and Year to fields, you can define the analysis period.
  • Group 1 and Group 2
    • These fields are required for the Objective Contribution by Groups and Budget and Costs per Portfolio, Objects, and Year analyses.
      • In the first analysis, they determine the axes and the weighted criterion contributions of these groups determine the position of the bubbles in the chart.
        • Caution: Both groups must stem from the same area since the evaluation of the planning objects is carried out for each area in the core data modules (see above) in which objective contribution criteria are grouped. Different areas can contain different groups.
          • In the listboxes, the group entries are already displayed grouped by area to facilitate the appropriate selection.
      • In the second analysis, both fields are only required for the display of the analysis. The respective selection does not have an impact on the analysis.

Edit filter

  • Select the required filter by clicking on the Select filter (filter symbol) button.
  • The Select Filter module is displayed.
  • Open the required filter by clicking on the link.
  • Change values in the required fields (see above).
  • Save.

Note

  • The existing filter is overwritten even if only a new name is entered. To receive an additional filter which resembles an existing one, a completely new filter with the respective specifications must be created.
