Change Board View

Information

  • Cards can be sorted vertically in lists and horizontally in swimlanes.

Change card layout

  • Open board → Sidebar...More
  • In the board menu, select the option Change Board View.
  • Select the List View or the Swimlane View.
  • By clicking Save, the current view can be saved for everyone.
    • This option also saves collapsed lists or swimlanes.
    • If the view is not saved, the changes are discarded when the board is reopened.

Edit Background Image

Information

  • The design of boards can be customized, e.g. with individual background images or background colors.

Procedure

  • Open board → Sidebar...More
  • In the board menu, select the option Change Background Image.
  • There are several ways of adding a background image:
    • Via URL 
      • Enter the URL in the field Via URL and click Apply.
    • By uploading an image
      • Click Browse Files and select an image.
    • By picking an image from the platform Unsplash.
      • In the lower area, click Photos.
      • Select an image by clicking on one of the displayed images or entering a search term first.
  • A background color can be selected instead:
    • In the lower area, click Colors.
    • Select one of the displayed colors or click Select your own color and select your own color.

  • The design of boards can be customized, e.g. with colors.

Procedure

  • Open board → Sidebar...More
  • In the board menu, select the option Change Board Color.
  • Select a color.

Edit Board Theme

Information

  • The design of boards can be customized, e.g. with board themes, i.e. different colors for card or list backgrounds and/or titles.

Procedure

  • Open board → Sidebar...More
  • In the board menu, select the option Change Board Theme.
  • The following themes are available:
    • Standard
    • Transparent White
    • Transparent Grey
    • White Headings

Note

Custom Fields

Information

  • Custom fields can be used to add further individual fields to cards and boards.
  • In this area, the custom fields of the project are displayed and further fields can be created on the board.

Create custom field

  • Click the .
  • Enter a title for the new field.
  • In the Available on listbox, select the objects on which the field is supposed to be available.
  • In the Type listbox, select the desired field type.
  • If needed, change the visibility settings.
    • For fields on boards:
      • Display Field in Preview: Defines whether the field is to be displayed on the board card once a value has been entered.
    • For fields on cards:
      • Display Field: Defines whether the field is displayed in the detail view of all cards by default.
        • When deactivated, the field first needs to be added to the card via the card menu.
      • Display Field in Preview: Defines whether the field is to be displayed on the card preview once a value has been entered.
  • Click Save.

Details

  • Custom fields can be used on the board or on the cards of the board.
    • A field can not be used on several object types at the same time.
    • Custom fields on the board can be filled in the dialog box on the board title and are then displayed in the board bar.
    • Custom fields on cards can be filled in the detail view of the card and are then, depending on the setting, also displayed in the preview of the card.
  • A field can be edited by clicking on it.
    • The type of a field cannot be changed after the field has been created.
    • Custom fields which were created in the project can not be edited on the board but just be (de)activated.
  • By clicking , a field can be deleted.
    • When a field is deleted, it is removed from all objects.
  • Via the sliders, the individual fields can be (de)activated.
    • Deactivated fields are not available for usage anymore.

Notes

  • Custom fields can only be created, edited and deleted by board admins.
  • A custom field of the card color type can only be created once per board.

Board iCalendar Feed

Information

  • Via the iCalendar Feed, the dates of the cards of a board (start and due date) can be exported into a calendar, e.g. Microsoft Outlook.

Create iCalendar Feed

  • Open board → Sidebar...More
  • In the board menu, select the option Board iCalendar Feed.
  • Click Create.

Adding the board dates to a Microsoft Outlook calendar

  • Open board → Sidebar...More
  • In the board menu, select the option Board iCalendar Feed.
  • Click Copy URL.
    • The iCalendar Feed needs to have been created first by the board admin (see above).
  • In the Outlook calendar, click Add Calendar and select From Internet.
    • Paste the copied URL into the dialog box and confirm with OK.
    • A new calendar with the dates from the boards is created.
      • For every start and due date, an entry is created which contains the name of the card and the username of the creator.

In PLANTA pulse, there are two ways of using iCalendar. Either

Copy Board

Information

  • By copying a board, a new board with the contents of the original board can be created.

Procedure

  • Open board → Sidebar...More
  • In the board menu, select the option Copy Board.
  • Enter a title for the board copy.
  • Select whether members, cards and card comments of the board should be kept. PREMIUM
  • Copy
  • The board copy is opened automatically.

The board is created in the same project as the original.

Export Board

Information

  • Boards and all their cards, lists and members can be exported via a .json file.

Procedure

  • Open board → Sidebar...More
  • In the board menu, select the option Export Board.
  • A .json file of the board is created and downloaded.
  • Using this file, the board can be imported somewhere else.

Archive Board

Information

  • A board can be archived so that it will not be displayed in PLANTA pulse anymore, but the related data and information will not be lost.

Procedure

  • Open board → Sidebar...More
  • In the board menu, select the option Archive Board.
  • Archive.

Details

  • Via the Projects panel → Archive, the archived boards can be accessed and restored, if needed.
  • Archived boards can be restored by all board admins of the board.

Delete Board

Information

  • A board can be deleted, which will also delete all related objects (e.g. lists, cards) and information.

Procedure

  • Open board → Sidebar...More
  • In the board menu, select the option Delete Board.
  • In the dialog box, click Delete.

Details

  • If a board in PLANTA pulse is only to be hidden instead of deleted, so that the related data will be kept, it can also be archived.

Notes

  • This menu item is only available for board admins.
  • A deleted board and all related data cannot be restored anymore.
  • Boards with cards on which working hours were recorded and boards which are synchronized with PLANTA project cannot be deleted via the Board Menu but only archived.
    • Boards with global admin rights can delete boards with cards on which hours worked have been recorded and boards which are synchronized with PLANTA project in the Administration panel.

Board Archive

Information

  • Archived cards, lists and swimlanes can be accessed in the board archive and can be restored or deleted if necessary.

Procedure

  • Open board → Sidebar...More
  • In the board menu, select the option Board Archive.
  • Switch to the tab of the object to be edited (Cards, lists or swimlanes).
  • By clicking on the links, the objects can be restored or deleted.
    • Restored objects are automatically added to the board again.
    • They appear at the position from which they were deleted.

Note

  • Archived boards be accessed in the menu Archive.
  • If lists and swimlanes are archived, the related cards are archived as well. They are, however, not listed separately in the tab Cards.

Add Board to Watch List

Information

  • All board members can configure individually whether they want to be notified about changes on the board.
    • Which notifications (e-mail, in-app or Telegram) will be sent, can be configured in the Notification Settings for the watch list.

Details

  • When the option is activated, the symbol appears in the board bar, indicating that the board is on the watch list.
    • By clicking on the icon or by clicking on the option in the board menu again, the board can be removed from the watch list.
  • If a board is on the watch list, the user will receive notifications about changes on the board.
  • If needed, only individual cards or lists can be added to the watch list as well.

Mute Board/Unmute

Information

  • A board can be muted, meaning that the user will not receive notifications about changes on this board anymore.
    • Exception: If users have added lists or cards on the board to their watch list, they will keep receiving these notifications.

Details

  • Muted boards are marked with in the board bar.
  • To unmute a board, the Unmute option can be selected via the or via the board menu.
  • Boards can also be muted directly in the In-App Notifications.

Note

  • Boards cannot be on the watch list and muted at the same time.

Configure Chat Channel

Information

  • Every board can be connected to a chat.

Procedure

  • Open board → Sidebar...More
  • In the board menu, select the option Configure Chat Channel.
  • Enter the URL for the chat (room).
  • Click Save.

Details

  • When a board is connected to a chat, the chat can be opened via the button in the board bar.

Notes

  • The chat application currently still needs to be installed separately.
  • This menu item is only available for board admins.

Hide/Display Card Keys

Information

  • The card keys on the individual cards of the board can be hidden, if needed.

Procedure

  • Open board → Sidebar...More
  • In the board menu, select the option Hide Card Keys or Display Card Keys.

Disable/Activate Time Recording

Open board → Sidebar...MoreDisable/Activate Time Recording

Information

  • The option Disable/Activate Time Recording can be used to disable or activate time recording on the board.
  • By default, time recording is activated.
  • If the setting is changed, no hours worked can be recorded on the cards of the board anymore.

Note

  • This menu item is only available for board admins.
  • If PLANTA Hybrid is used and the setting Enable Time Recording on Cards of Unsynchronized Boards is deactivated in the Administration panel, time recording is always disabled on unsynchronized boards and this menu item is not displayed.

Save as Board Template

This feature is only available in the premium version of PLANTA pulse.
