• In this module, new listbox categories and their values are created and the already existing ones are managed. The list box categories contained here are more recent. Listbox categories that have been entered in older PLANTA project releases are managed in the Listbox Values (old) module.

  • Listbox categories are required for data items the values of which do not exist as independent records.

Create new listbox category

• Open the Listbox Values module.

• Enter a new title in the Name data field.

• Code (ID) of the listbox category is generated automatically.

• Save.

Create new listbox values

• Select a listbox category from the listbox.

• Insert a new line by right-clicking and selecting Insert → Listbox values.

• Write a comment in the Listbox value field.

• ID of the listbox value is generated automatically.

• You can go ahead and fill other fields if required.

• Save.

Delete listbox category

• Select the required listbox category from the listbox in the Listbox category field.

• Mark the category with CTRL + click.

• Click on the Delete button.

Delete listbox values

• Select the required listbox category from the listbox in the Listbox category field.

• Mark the requested data area using CTRL + click.

• Click on the Delete button.

Create Listbox Module from a Listbox Category

Information

• A listbox module can automatically be created from a listbox category.

Procedure

• Select the required listbox category from the listbox in the Listbox category field.
• Select the Generate listbox option in the context menu.
• The new listbox module is opened in the Modules module and the listbox data area is opened in the Data Areas module.

Note

• In PLANTA standard, the following global settings required for the function are already preconfigured. They can be adjusted in the Global Settings module upon requirement:
  • MV "Listbox" in the "Data Areas" module: ID of the listbox module variant of the Data Areas module. Is automatically opened after the generation of the listbox module.
  • Generate lisbox: Module ID of the template module which is used for the creation.
    • The template module must only possess one data area.
  • Work area for automatically generated listboxes: ID of the work area to which the newly created listbox module is assigned. If no ID is stored, the new module will not be assigned to any work area.

Listbox categories for color ranges

Listbox categories that are assigned to DI066734 are displayed in the Color ranges listbox in the chart customizer. Risk/opportunity/matrix charts to which a color range is assigned read them from the listbox values and translate them in the Heatmap dictionary.

If a category starts with „#”, it is treated as a value range based on a 4 – 9 digit number.
Otherwise it is treated as a key of its own, whereas the main part is a JSON object that is read from the description.
