Web Client Modules for Management
General
Information
- The management has the option to use PLANTA project via web client. I.e., the software can be be opened from any location via the browser, provided that there is an internet connection.
- Currently, two roles are available in the Web Client:
- A new management role designed for the Web Client (demo user R45) with overview modules that were especially designed for the Web Client and that provide you with a quick overview of the status of the company projects.
- The standard portfolio role (demo user R70) with the same modules as in the Desktop Client.
- The web client will progressively be made available to all user groups.

- Caution: The PLANTA web client is optimized for the Chrome browser.
Management Role
Information
- The management modules which are opened via the web client (R45) differ from the management modules of the desktop version (R47).
- The module tree and the individual modules of the management role have been streamlined and restructured for the Web Client.
- The Overview module contains different charts which provide load profile with a compact overview of the active company projects.
- Project details can be viewed via the Project List, Project Dashboard, and Project Core Data modules.
- In the Documents module, you can store and view documents related to the selected project.
Portfolio Management Role
Information
- The portfolio management role (R70) in the web client is based on the same modules as the portfolio management role in the desktop client. For an overview of the modules with links to the corresponding descriptions, please click here.
- However, some functions, such as PDF export, PPT, or direct links to the planning objects contained in the portfolio, are currently not yet available in the web client. If the user tries to execute this function, he/she is informed about this by a respective message and an option is offered to him/her to switch to the desktop client to use this function. If this query is answered with Yes, he/she is redirected to the corresponding position in the desktop client.
Menus and Menu Items
Information
- The menus and menu items of the web client differ slightly from thos of the desktop client.
- The menu bar is opened in the Web Client via the symbol at the top margin of your display. The toolbar is located at the same position as in the Desktop Client.
- The menu items available in the web client are the same as in the desktop client, they only differ in their number and arrangement.
- Special case: The Home menu item in the web client has a special behavior. Further information
- The Export to Microsoft Excel, Create PDF, and Create PDF as e-mail attachment are currently not supported in the web client.
- The web client menu items are managed through their own menu item role. A user can be assigned both a desktop and a web client menu item role. If the latter is not assigned to the user and the user is using the web client, the desktop menu items are displayed in the web client. The user will be informed on this by a corresponding message upon login.
