Information

  • In this module, all active planning objects (ideas, proposals, projects with subprojects (if available), programs, requests) are displayed in table form.
  • Here you can quickly edit all important planning object core data parameters.
  • Of course, the structure can be changed here.

Details

  • Below the respective planning object, the Stakeholder as well as the total estimate of the manager are displayed and can be edited if the user is entitled to do so.
    • Using the Insert → Stakeholder context menu command you can assign (further) stakeholders to a project.
      • When inserting a Stakeholder, the Category field must be filled mandatorily (mandatory field).
      • By selecting the Show utilization and Show absence context menu commands on the required stakeholder you switch to the Utilization with Cause and Absence modules in which the utilization and absence data of the selected stakeholder can be viewed.
  • Via the Open planning object context menu command or by clicking on the ID you can open the respective planning objects directly with their workflow modules.
  • If resource requests are activated, you can configure in the Resource requests checkbox whether and at which level resource requests are active in the project.

Change Planning Object Type

Information

  • Planning object type determines whether the present planning object is an idea, a proposal, a project, or a program.
    • Here, the first three types represent the so-called planning stages: idea is the lowest level, project the highest. It is hence possible to convert a planning object into an immediately higher or lower planning object type by changing the planning stage of the respective planning object. I.e. an idea can be turned into a proposal or a proposal can be turned into a project or vice versa.
    • Since programs are no planning stage of planning objects but are only used for bundling projects, no conversion mechanism can be applied to them.

Details

  • There are two options for changing planning object types:
    1. Change via process models: It is possible to create a process model in which the conversion of one planning object type into another is carried out by moving on from one process phase to the next phase in the course of an approval process, e.g. from idea phase to proposal phase. For further information, see here.
      • Such process models with the respectively defined conversion rules are contained in the scope of supply of PLANTA project and can be used as a template for the creation of individual models.
    2. Change directly by adjusting the planning object type directly in the Type parameter in the required planning object in the present Edit Planning Objects module.

Procedure Change the planning object type via the Type parameter

  • Convert idea into proposal
    • Switch to the Idea module variant in the Edit Planning Objects module.
    • Unhide the hidden Type column (window 9).
    • Select the value “Proposal” for the required idea from the listbox in the Type field.

    • When clicking on the link on the ID field, the Proposal module panel will be opened now instead of the Idea module panel.
  • Convert Proposal into Project
    • Switch to the Proposal module variant in the Edit Planning Objects module.
    • Unhide the hidden Type column (window 9).
    • Select the value "Projects" for the required idea from the listbox in the Type field.
