During the calculation of a schedule, the dates of the respective project and those of individual tasks are calculated and displayed based on defined dates, taking different planning parameters and defined links into account. If resources have already been planned on the tasks including their effort, the resource loading will also be calculated on a daily basis in schedule calculation, based on their specified availability or further resource parameters. Furthermore resource dates will be calculated.
You can open the project a) by opening a dialog window via the Extras → Go to menu or via CTRL + G and entering the ID of the required project or b) by clicking on the link on the ID of the required project in any module. Subsequently, click on the module tab of the required module.
Who is allowed to calculate the schedule of a project?
All users who have access to the modules mentioned above and have modification rights for the respective project. These are, in PLANTA standard, managers of the respective project, their deputies, or multi-project managers. For further information on rights, please click here.
Procedure
Once the project has been planned as desired or changes have been made to the planning or certain parameters, click on the Calculate schedule icon in the menu bar in the Schedule module. The menu item is also active in further above mentioned modules.
Notes
In PLANTA project you can also have the schedules of all projects calculated at once. However, this function is only available to users with multi-project manager rights.
