General Information on System Components and Versions
PLANTA updates its individual client, server and database (Customizing) software components independent of one another. There may, however, be dependencies between individual versions of different components. The dependencies are specified under the corresponding versions in the table below.

On this page, the components are specified individually with their versions according to the following schema: [component] [release] (changeset/hash). The change set specification is only required to identify the versions.

In the user documentation of PLANTA project products (PLANTA project/portfolio, PLANTA customizer and PLANTA link), only the database version will be specified because it is a major determinant for the existence and behavior of user functions. If particular functions stem from client and server versions, they will be integrated in the documentation of the corresponding product version and be explicitly identified in the product release notes.

The individual versions of a component are built on one another, thus, client version 39.5.17 also contains all features and bug fixes of the previous client version 39.5.16.
Information on the component versions deployed in your system can be found in system information which can be retrieved via the ? → System information or via CTRL+B. To find out what desktop client version you are using, look at the tooltip on the logo in the title bar. For your desktop client version, look at the tooltip on the PLANTA logo at the bottom of the user menu.
Version Overview (Dates, Download Links)

The program files are made available for download on the PLANTA Transfer Server. In order to download the program files, you will need your PLANTA Transfer Server access data.

Each server download package also contains the latest client and database release.

Each database download package also contains the latest client and server release.

The stable versions are bugfix versions of the respective base versions.

Client stables

Each client stable version replaces the previous version entirely since they contain all predecessor versions including the base version and all predecessor stables. This means that only the latest stable version (if available) needs to be installed for the client, regardless of whether the basic version has already been installed or not.

Server stables

The stable versions of the server do not contain the base version. If you would like to install a stable version and you do not yet have a basic version installed, it must be installed first. Subsequently, stable versions are installed on it. However, the stable versions can, but do not have to, contain the previous stable versions. Please check the readme file that comes with each stable version.
