• Project team members record their effort (hours worked) on projects on which they have worked.
• The project managers monitor the project progress based on the recorded hours.
• By means of forecasts by the project team members on future effort, project managers can quickly react to changes and adapt planning.
• The project team members also enter vacation and other absence which must be taken into account when resources are planned for projects.
