Risks/Opportunities (Project) MOD0099D8
Access
- Project (Proposal) panel → Further... → Risks/Opportunities
Information
- In this module, risks and opportunities are collected and edited based on the program.
Details
- In the respective area heading bars, damage and gross profit values of the selected project are displayed.
- The project values are sums of the respective values from individual active risks/opportunities. The values of non-active risks/opportunities are not considered in project values.
- Below the area bars, individual risks and opportunities are listed and can be edited and new risks and opportunities can be created.
- In the module header, bubble charts for risks and opportunities as well as matrix diagrams for risks and opportunities can be displayed in addition by clicking on the Unhide/hide charts button.
- If the button is clicked on once more, the bubble charts will be hidden again.
Notes
- If it is a structured project, only risks and/or opportunities of the project level at which you currently are will be displayed, i.e. either risks and/or opportunities of the main project or of the respective subproject will be displayed.
- You can find risk and opportunity data of the entire project structure in the with subprojects line in the Risks/Opportunities area in the Status module.
Module Variants
Base | Risks and opportunities are shown in the corresponding area (Risks and Opportunities), single-lined () and ungrouped. This module variant is loaded by default. |
by category | In this module variant, risks and opportunities are displayed in the corresponding area, single-lined and grouped by the Category parameter. |
by priority | In this module variant, risks and opportunities are displayed in the corresponding area, single-lined and grouped by the Priority parameter. |
Risks
Information
- Risk management is the systematic collection, evaluation, and controlling of different risks.
- Risks increase costs or lead to provisions.
- In order to achieve suitable preventive and protective measures, you have to identify new risks at an early stage and re-evaluate known risks continuously.
Create Risk
Procedure
- Insert a new risk record by clicking on the plus button next to the heading.
- Enter the name in the Risk field.
- Select the required category from the listbox.
- The amount of damage possible due to the occurring risk is specified in the Possible field (EUR).
- Enter the probability in the Probability field (in %).
- The probable extent of damage is calculated in the Probability field from the values in the Possible and Probable fields. If measures are subsequently added to the risk, their values are taken into account in the calculation of the probable damage as well.
- If required, you can go ahead and fill other fields and save subsequently.
Notes
- All newly created risks are active by default (Active checkbox activated).
- If risks are deactivated,
- they will not be considered in analysis and status reports.
- they will not be displayed in the charts.
- the probable damage in the Probable field is not calculated for such risks either.
Insert Risk Measure
Procedure
- Insert a measure record by right-clicking on the required risk record and selecting Insert → Measure from the context menu.
- Select the required status from the listbox.
- Define the measure in the Measure description field.
- Enter the date in the Date field.
- You can go ahead and fill other fields if required.
- Save.
Risk Charts
Procedure
- By clicking on the Hide/unhide charts button, the following graphical representations are displayed:
- a bubble chart based on the numbers of the Possible damage (x axis), Probability (y axis), and Probable damage parameters (size of the bubbles) and
- a matrix diagram which is based on the high, medium, low categories of the Extent of damage and Probability of occurrence parameters and which shows the number of risks in these categories.
Risk Trend Analysis
Procedure
- By clicking on the Risk Trend Analysis link in the area bar of the risks you switch to the Risk Trend Analysis of the project.
- If it is a structured project, the risk trend analysis is only displayed for the project level at which you currently are, i.e. either the risk trend analysis of the main project or that of the respective subproject.
Opportunities
Information
- Opportunities management is the early identification, evaluation, and management of future gross profit potential.
- Opportunities increase revenues and/or the opportunity to increase sales/revenues.
- New strategies and innovations can be implemented through the initiation of adequate measures.
Details
- The procedure for collecting and editing opportunity and risk measures equates to that for risks.
Opportunity Charts
Procedure
- By clicking on the Hide/unhide charts button, the following graphical representations are displayed:
- a bubble chart based on the numbers of the Possible gross profit (x axis), Probability (y axis), and Probable gross profit parameters (size of the bubbles) and
- a matrix diagram which is based on the high, medium, low categories of the Gross profit level and Probability of occurrence parameters and which shows the number of risks in these categories.
Opportunity Trend Analysis
Procedure
- By clicking on the Opportunity Trend Analysis link in the area bar of the opportunities you switch to the Opportunity Trend Analysis of the selected project.
- If it is a structured project, the opportunity trend analysis is only displayed for the project level at which you currently are, i.e. either the risk trend analysis of the main project or that of the respective subproject.
