DT468 Period

Below, you will find descriptions of the resource period parameters used in standard modules (resource period data fields)

DI001326 Resource

ID of the resource

DI001327 Period

In PLANTA project, one period equates to one day. On this day, a resource can, e.g., be planned or vacation or absence can be defined for him or her.

DI001337 Available capacity (without child resources)

Actually available capacity of the selected resource without its possibly existing child resources on the selected day. Do not confuse this with general availability of the resource per period (Cf. Unit/period)! Due to different influence factors, the actually available capacity can be lower or higher than the defined availability. For further information, see the calculation below.

Details

  • When creating period records, the default value defined for the resource is consistently copied from the Available capacity for periods field (Resource Data Sheet module) to all periods but, if necessary, it can be changed for each period by changing the influence factor values (manual changing not possible since calculated).
  • If the default value or one of the values which are considered in the calculation is changed in the Available capacity for periods field (Resource Data Sheet module), the default value is automatically applied to all new periods of the resource as soon as they are generated. If the changed value is to be adopted for existing periods as well, the periods must be updated in the Resource Data Sheet module.

Calculation

  • Available capacity (without child resources) = Unit/period * Factor amount/period +/- values of the influence factor 1-5 (vacation, absence, factor value 3, factor value 4, or factor value 5) calculated successively.

DI002454 Available capacity

Actually available capacity of the selected resource without its possibly existing child resources on the selected day.

Calculation

Note

  • If the resource availability of the child resources is altered, the available capacity for each period will be summarized upwards along the resource structure when saving. It is saved in the Available capacity field on each parent resource per period.

DI001338 Factor amount/period

Production factor amount which is available on the selected day (in the selected period). When creating the periods, the general, initial value is consistently copied from the Factor amount field (Resource Data Sheet module) to all period records but can be changed in individual period records afterwards.

Details

The parameter can be edited in the following module by users with modification rights:

DI001339 Unit/period

The number of units ( the unit itself is defined in the Base unit parameter), which are available for the planning of the selected resource on the selected day (in the selected period). When creating the periods (daily records), the initial default value is consistently copied from the Unit/day field (Resource Data Sheet module) to all days but can be changed for individual days afterwards.

The parameter can be edited in the following module by users with modification rights:

DI001340 Vacation (factor value 1)

In PLANTA standard, the vacation of the resource on the selected day is displayed. The field is automatically filled with the value which the respective employee has set when recording his/her Absence for this day: one day (1) or half a day (0,5)

Details

  • The parameter represents the first of 5 influence factors with the help of which the generally defined availability of the resource per day (see the Available capacity (without child resources) parameter can be changed. This factor is permanently preset with vacation and cannot be changed. In the calculation of available capacity, the 5 period influence factors are successively taken into account.

DI001341 Absence (factor value 2)

In PLANTA standard, the absence of the resource on the selected day is displayed here. The field is automatically filled with the value which the respective employee has set when recording his/her Absence for this day: one day (1) or half a day (0,5)

Details

  • The parameter represents the second of 5 influence factors with the help of which the generally defined availability of the resource per day (see the Available capacity (without child resources) parameter can be changed. This factor is permanently preset with vacation and cannot be changed. In the calculation of available capacity, the 5 period influence factors are successively taken into account.

DI001342 Basic load (factor value 3)

In PLANTA standard, the basic load of the resource on the selected day is displayed here.

Details

  • The influence represents the third of 5 influence factors with the help of which the generally defined availability of the resource per day (see the Available capacity (without child resources) parameter can be changed. This influence factor can be set to another meaning if required, however, in such a case, the impact on the modules in which this parameter is used must be taken into account. In the calculation of available capacity, the 5 period influence factors are successively taken into account.
  • The field is automatically filled with the value from the Value 3 field in the Resource Data Sheet module, however, it can be changed manually per day in the Availability module if necessary.

DI001343 Factor value 4

In PLANTA standard, the additional work of the resource on the selected day is displayed

Details

  • The influence represents the fourth of 5 influence factors with the help of which the generally defined availability of the resource per day (see the Available capacity (without child resources) parameter can be changed. This influence factor can be set to another meaning if required, however, in such a case, the impact on the modules in which this parameter is used must be taken into account. In the calculation of available capacity, the 5 period influence factors are successively taken into account.
  • The field is automatically filled with the value from the Value 4 field in the Resource Data Sheet module, however, it can be changed manually per day in the Availability module if necessary.

DI001344 Factor value 5

In PLANTA standard, an additional factor is displayed here which has an influence on the availability of the resource on the selected day.

Details

  • This parameter represents the fifth of 5 influence factors with the help of which the generally defined availability of the resource per day (see the Available capacity (without child resources) parameter) can be changed. This influence factor can be set to another meaning if required, however, in such a case, the impact on the modules in which this parameter is used must be taken into account. In the calculation of available capacity, the 5 period influence factors are successively taken into account.
  • The field is automatically filled with the value from the Value 5 field in the Resource Data Sheet module, however, it can be changed manually per day in the Availability module if necessary.

Note

DI001364 Work

This parameter serves to define whether the resource is available for planning on the selected day.

Values:

  • = work
  • = no work.
    • If the Work parameter is deactivated for a particular day, all other parameters mentioned above (Available capacity (without child resources), Utilization (without child resources), Planned (without child resources), Used (without child resources)) = 0 for this day

Details

  • When you create period records (daily records), this value is copied from the stored resource calendar.
  • In order to define a day as a non-working day in the Availability module, you have to empty the Unit/period and Factor amount/period parameters and save these changes. If this is done, the Available capacity (without child resources) and Available capacity fields will be emptied automatically if they contain values and the Work checkbox is automatically deactivated.
  • And vice versa, if you want to define a non-working day as a working day in the Availability module, the Unit/period and Factor amount/period parameters must be set, and in case the basic load is defined in the Resource Data Sheet, the Basic load (factor value 3) field with the appropriate value and the changes must be saved. As a result, the Work checkbox will automatically be deactivated.
  • After these parameters have been changed, replanning is required in order for the changed availabilities to be taken into account in all projects for which the resource has been planned.

DI002537 Vacation

Number of the vacation days of the selected resource

Details

DI002538 Absence

Number of the absence days of the selected resource

Details

DI002544 Comment

Comment on the absence of the resource

DI041435 Absence type

Type of absence

If the employees record their absence in the Absence module (or administrators in the Availability module), they must select an absence type for each day. The entry determines the type and duration of absence per day, i.e. either an entire or half a day. Different view modules for absence, e.g. Absence (Department), then do not show the specific absence type but only either Vacation or Absence with values 1 or 0,5. The tables below illustrate this relation.
