Information

• This topic is a parent center for all further descriptions concerning the installation of PLANTA project.

• Since the individual PLANTA software components (client, server, and database (customizing)) can be updated independent of one another, there is an individual description for the update of each component. There may be dependencies between individual versions of different components. In such a case, all components concerned must be updated.

• For database update, PLANTA generally recommends to update the server as well, since there are more dependencies between server and database than, e.g., between database and client. The client can always be updated independent of server and database.

• The individual PLANTA Project components manager, worker, customizing, and webclient are delivered as container images in Docker container format and are available on the PLANTA Registry at https://registry.planta.services. • The release notes for individual releases as well as notes on the update to particular releases can be found under Container Release (from 39.5.24)

Caution

• The update of PLANTA project requires know how in the area of PLANTA customizer, since some update steps refer back to PLANTA customizer-functions and modules. Ideally, the update should be carried out by an IT administrator and a customizer.

• Please read the system requirements before you begin with the PLANTA project update.

• In the case of a database update, PLANTA recommends that you do this in a test system first before updating the productive system.
