Access

• Project (Proposal) panel → Further... → Dependencies

Information

• In this module, projects are displayed
  • on which the completion of the current project depends, (Dependent on area).
  • and for the completion of which the current project is required (Required for area), provided that the selected project has been selected in the Dependent on area in the corresponding projects.
• New dependencies can be created for the selected project.

Create dependency for the selected project

• Click on the Assign dependent projects button.
  • A dialog module containing all projects will be displayed.
  • Select the required project from the list by activating the corresponding checkbox and clicking on the Assign selected objects button.
  • A dependency record in which the selected project is displayed is created automatically.
  • The Requested end, Calc. end and Manager contain data from the respective project.
  • If required, you can enter a comment in the Comment field.
• Save.

Details

• The dependencies created and displayed in this module are of purely informational nature. They have no effect whatsoever on the schedules of the projects concerned.
• There are two ways to illustrate dependencies between projects in PLANTA project:
  • via cross-project (external) links (they have an effect on the task dates of the connected projects).
  • by displaying the external tasks in own schedule (they have no effect on the task dates of the connected projects).

Note

• The dependencies can be created by users with multi-project manager, project manager, or multi-portfolio manager rights. If the user does not possess the required rights, the button is not displayed and the insert entry in the context menu is not available.
• You cannot create a dependency to the project from which you try to create the dependency.
