Introduction

  • Planning → Projects panel → Click on the ID of the required project → Project panel → Further... → Progress

Alternative Introduction

Alternative Introduction

  • There are several ways to access the desired planning object or portfolio panel and its associated modules:

    • via Quick Access in the user menu (My Objects and Favorites)

    • via the Global Search function in the user menu (Direct Entry)

    • via links on planning objects or portfolios in various modules

Information

  • In this module,

    • monitor the project progress,

    • apply the forecast estimated by the reporters and

    • define the functional degree of completion.

Details

  • In the Completed field, the functional degree of completion can be entered.

    • The entered value is compared to the value in the Used field and depending on whether this value is exceeded or fallen below, the Completed field is colored green, yellow, or red.

  • In the Forecast field at task level, there are summarized forecast values on remaining effort (for each task, sum of all resource assignments of the task). This field is preset with a traffic light function and is colored red or green depending on whether the Remaining effort is overrun or undercut by the forecast.

    • When extending the task-resource assignment, the Forecast field also shows forecasts of individual task resources for the remaining effort, which were recorded as part of the recorded hours worked in the Record Hours module. The field is also preset with a traffic light.

    • Forecast values can

      • be entered manually. To do so, the Forecast field must also be cleared manually for future forecasts.

      • or it must be copied to the Remaining effort field by clicking on the Copy forecast button. As a result, the Forecast field is automatically cleared for future forecasts. If no particular records are marked, all existing forecast values are copied automatically.

    • In order for the adoption of forecasts to take effect you have to recalculate the schedule (by clicking on the calculation button image2022-4-4_13-50-4.png in the toolbar).

    • If resource planning with requests/approvals is used, the Adopt forecasts button is not available.

Note

  • By clicking on the required task and selecting the Edit task context menu command you switch to the Task module. Here you can edit different paramaters and settings of the task.
