Introduction
-
Settings → Master Data → Users, Roles, Resources → Configure User Menu
Information
-
In the Configure User Menu module, a matrix is used to define which navigation point (navigation area or module) each person group is authorized to see in the user menu.
-
The navigation structure itself – meaning the layout of the navigation areas and the modules they contain – is fixed and managed independently of the rights assignment. Only the visibility is controlled in the module, not the structure. The four standard areas are created as work areas in the module of the same name.
Matrix
-
Lines: Navigation points (Navigation areas and the modules they contain)
-
Columns: Person groups
-
Field: Checkbox – activated, if the respective person group is authorized to see the navigation point
If several person groups are assigned to one user, the visibility results additively from the sum of all assigned person groups. Each navigation point only appears once in the user menu anyways.
-
The configuration matrix controls the visibility of the user modules.
-
The visibility of the administration and customizing modules cannot be configured individually. The person groups Admin (ADM) and Customizer (CU) and the Customizer parameter control the visibility of all administration modules or all customizing modules.
Assign individual modules
-
After an update, individual modules are automatically sorted into the From Migration area.
-
Individual modules in the From Migration area can be sorted in the the four standard navigation areas by clicking the Assign modules button in the respective navigation area.
