• PM Administration → Further Master Data → Create SAP-WBS Elements

Information

• The administration module at hand serves
  • to import a project structure for the selected project from an external system (currently SAP) via PLANTA link and possibly edit it, or
  • to manually create an SAP project structure or another alternative project structure or
  • create account assignment elements and link them to SAP elements in order for the costs summarized to account assignment elements to be displayed on SAP WBS elements.

Details

• The SAP project structure created or imported here (or an alternative structure) can be linked to the PLANTA project structure in the SAP-WBS or Schedule user modules in order to
  • either export the effort and costs planned in PLANTA project to the SAP system in line with the SAP project structure
  • or, in case costs and effort have been imported from the SAP system, to compare them to PLANTA effort/costs.

Notes

• Usually, the SAP WBS structure is imported to PLANTA including the already assigned account assignment elements.
• The account assignment elements are required since they serve to import and export costs/effort and budgets from SAP to PLANTA project and vice versa.
• ID of the account assignment elements equates to the ID of the cost type or cost center from which the costs or effort stem. If there are no costs on account assignment elements, no summarization to SAP WBS elements will take place accordingly.

Create SAP WBS Elements Manually

Procedure

• Select a PLANTA project from the Project name listbox.
  • Only projects with status = 1 will be displayed in the listbox.
• Select Insert → SAP-WBS element from the context menu.
• Enter the required data.
• Save.

Create and Assign Account Assignment Elements Manually

Procedure

• Right-click on the SAP WBS element to which an account assignment element is to be subordinated and select Insert → Account assignment element from the context menu.
• Enter the ID or the cost type or cost center from which costs/effort are to be summarized in the Account assignment element field.
• Save.

Delete SAP WBS Elements/Account Assignment Elements

Procedure

• Mark the lines to be deleted.
• Click on the Delete button in the toolbar to delete the required line.

Notes

• An SAP WBS elements can only be deleted if
  • it is located at the lowest structural level, i.e. if no other SAP WBS element is assigned to it.
  • no effort or cost data from SAP is available on this SAP WBS element.
  • no PLANTA project tasks are assigned to this SAP WBS element.

Delete Assignment

Procedure

• In this module you cannot assign SAP WBS elements to tasks, but available assignments can be deleted.
  • The assignment can only be made from the SAP-WBS module.
• To delete an assignment, right-click on the required task and select the Delete assignment command from the context menu.
